Computer skills have become necessary for adults to stay competitive in the job market. Whether you are new to the computer keyboard or wanting to increase your speed, this self-paced course will enhance your keyboarding skills. This class is a prerequisite for all beginning computer classes.

How to Design a Web Page (Basic) HTML

Recommended: Basic Internet Knowledge

Become familiar with applications that are available for creating a Web Page. This 12-hour class will introduce HTML, cover the tools needed in creating a Web page, and discuss step-by-step “how to’s” to get you started.

How to Design a Web Page (Advanced) HTML

Recommended: Basic Internet Knowledge

This class covers expanded use of HTML and the capabilities available for use in the development of your own Web site. You will develop your own Web page during this class. You will also learn integrating text and graphics, adding transparency and animation effects, how to use image maps, creating basic forms, create and format tables, and design basic frames.

Computer Fundamentals

Recommended: Knowledge of the Keyboard

This course introduces core technology concepts. Instruction will aid in the understanding and use of the basic feature of personal computers. Hands-on activities introduce you to hardware and computer terminology, copying files, making folders, and directories. In addition, a brief introduction to Microsoft Office applications will be covered.

Microsoft Word Level 1

Recommended: Computer Fundamentals of a working knowledge of Windows

Word processing is the use of computer to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. This course is the first in a series of three Microsoft Office Word courses. It will provide you with the basic concepts required to produce business documents.

Microsoft Word Level 2

Recommended: Computer Fundamentals of a working knowledge of Windows

This course will help you go beyond the basics of word processing to enhance your Microsoft Word documents with sophisticated components such as tables, charts, customized formats, and graphics. It will also help you create your own tools to produce attractive and effective documents with less time and effort than you've ever needed before.

Microsoft Excel Level 1

Recommended: Computer Fundamentals of a working knowledge of Windows

This course provides you with skills needed to create, edit, format, and print basic Mircosoft Excel worksheets. You will be able to sotr data electronically allowing you to quickly update existing data, run reports on data, calculate totals, and chart, sort, and filter your data.

Microsoft Excel Level 2

Recommended: Computer Fundamentals of a working knowledge of Windows

This course provides and intermediate-level overview of Microsoft's spreadsheet program. Gain the skill necessary to complete templates, sort and filter data, import and export data, and work with Excel on the Web.

Basic Internet/E-mail

Recommended: Computer Fundamentals of a working knowledge of Windows

This course covers the most common features of the Internet and E-mail. Learn how to use Internet Explorer and basic e-mail programs.
